Privacy Policy
Last updated 14 October 2026
The short version
- A parent or guardian makes the account. We never ask a child for their name, email or contact details.
- Your child's voice is turned into text and then not kept. Camera pictures are used for one answer and then not kept.
- We keep conversations and Gizmo's memory notes so Gizmo can remember your child, until you ask us to delete them.
- We don't sell personal information, show ads, or use your child's conversations to train AI models.
- Write to parkjundk@gmail.com and we'll show you, correct or delete everything we hold.
Who we are
Gizmo is an AI friend for kids, made by Oddware ("we", "us"). This policy covers Gizmo at gizmo.oddware.xyz: what we collect, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.
Accounts are for grown-ups
Only an adult can create a Gizmo account. The parent or guardian who creates it lets their child talk to Gizmo with it and stays in charge of it. Children should not create accounts themselves. If you think a child has given us personal information without a parent's permission, write to us and we will delete it.
What we collect
From you, the parent
- Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile picture Google shares with us. If you use a password, we store only a secure hash of it.
- Subscription details: your payments are handled by Whop. We receive your plan, its status and renewal dates, and the email you used at checkout. We never see or store your card number.
- Messages you send us: if you email us for support, we keep that conversation so we can help.
- Feature requests: the "Request a feature" form is for grown-ups, and never asks for a child's name, age, school or email. We store the idea you wrote and, if you gave one, your email address. With it we keep which account sent it (if you were signed in), the page it was sent from (without anything after the address and path) and your browser's type. To stop spam we also keep a scrambled, one-way version of your network address (not the address itself) and count how many ideas it sends in an hour. You can also attach up to five pictures, PDFs or text files to explain your idea; please don't send photos of children or anything private. We email your idea and its attachments to our team (through our email service, Resend) and use all of this only to read your idea, reply if you asked us to, and keep the form from being abused.
From your child, while they use Gizmo
- Voice: recorded only while the talk button is held, turned into text, and not kept after that.
- Typed words: anything your child types to Gizmo.
- Camera pictures, only when used: if your child shows Gizmo something with the camera, that picture is used to answer that one question and is not kept.
- Conversations and memory: the text of conversations, the pictures and short clips Gizmo makes for them, and short notes Gizmo keeps so it can remember things across conversations (for example, a favourite animal). Gizmo is told never to keep full names, addresses, schools or passwords.
Automatically
- Time zone: so Gizmo's sky and weather match the main city of your time zone. We don't use GPS or precise location.
- Technical logs: connection times, timings and errors, used to keep Gizmo working. They don't contain what your child said.
- Browser storage: a sign-in cookie, and small settings saved in your browser such as Gizmo's volume. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track you across other sites.
How we use it
Only to run Gizmo for your family:
- to sign you in and manage your subscription;
- to understand your child and answer them, in words, voice and pictures;
- to remember things from earlier conversations;
- to keep Gizmo safe and kind, and to fix problems;
- to answer you when you write to us, and to tell you about important changes.
We don't sell or rent personal information, show ads, build advertising profiles, or use your child's conversations to train AI models.
Children's privacy
Gizmo is made for children, so we follow the rules that protect them, including the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the children's data rules of the UK and EU.
- Parental consent. A child can only talk to Gizmo through a parent's account with an active subscription. By creating the account and subscribing, the parent consents to the collection described in this policy.
- Only what's needed. We collect from a child only what Gizmo needs to talk with them. A child never has to share personal details to use Gizmo, and Gizmo doesn't ask for them.
- Never public, never shared for marketing. Your child's conversations are never shown to other users or the public, and we never contact a child directly.
- Parents stay in control. You can review what we hold about your child, ask us to delete it, and tell us to stop collecting more, at any time. Write to parkjundk@gmail.com from your account's email.
Who helps us run Gizmo
These services process data for us, only to provide Gizmo and under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Google (Gemini): hearing, understanding and answering, Gizmo's voice, and organising Gizmo's memory.
- fal.ai: drawing and animating pictures from Gizmo's descriptions.
- Railway: hosts the servers that run Gizmo and store conversations and memory.
- Convex: stores accounts, feature requests and their attachments, and handles sign-in.
- Resend: sends the feature requests you submit to our team by email.
- Whop: checkout, subscriptions and receipts.
- Cloudflare: serves the website.
- Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in with Google.
- MET Norway: weather for the city of your time zone. No personal data is sent.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect a child or anyone else from harm, or if Oddware or Gizmo is sold or merged, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.
How long we keep it
- Voice recordings and camera pictures: not kept after they're used.
- Pictures and clips Gizmo makes: deleted automatically after about 30 days.
- Your account, conversations and Gizmo's memory notes: kept while your account is open, so Gizmo can remember your child.
- Feature requests: kept so we can read them and reply; attachments are deleted automatically after about 60 days. We delete yours whenever you ask: write to us from the email you gave in the form.
- When you ask us to delete your account, we delete these within 30 days. Whop keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you and your child, or to stop using it. Write to parkjundk@gmail.com from your account's email and we'll reply within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for asking. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where your data is processed
Our servers are in Singapore, and our providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Wherever it's processed, it's protected as this policy describes.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS), sign-in uses short-lived tokens, passwords are hashed, and only the people who run Gizmo can reach its servers. No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, or changes what we collect from children, we'll tell you by email or in the app first.
